Token-economy social platform with live video battles

A social app where users post text, image and video, earn and spend tokens on post boosts and extensions, and go head-to-head in live video battles.

01 — Challenge

A token economy is a ledger, and a ledger that drifts destroys trust in the product. Live battles between two users added real-time state that had to stay consistent across both participants and any spectators.

02 — Approach

Built the token ledger as an auditable balance system rather than an incrementing counter, so every earn and spend is traceable. Modelled boosts and post extensions as token-consuming actions with server-side validation, and built the live battle flow with the iOS client against one Laravel-side API.

03 — Impact

Users can post across multiple media types, earn and spend tokens on boosts and extensions, and compete in live battles, all backed by a token ledger that reconciles.
