City discovery and rating platform for restaurants and hotels

A city-based platform where users add and rate restaurants, cafés and hotels with photos, reviews and comments, surfacing the best-rated places in any city.

01 — Challenge

A rating system is only as useful as its resistance to noise, and city-scoped discovery needs the data model to make "best in this place" a cheap query rather than an expensive one.

02 — Approach

Built the venue, review and rating model on CodeIgniter with a Nuxt front end consuming the API, structuring city scoping so top-rated listings resolve without scanning the whole dataset.

03 — Impact

Users add venues with photos and reviews, and browse top-rated food and accommodation by city.
