Live video streaming that connects citizens to their nearest police force
A live video streaming system that routes a citizen in trouble to the nearest city police department, backing both Android and iOS clients from one Laravel API.
Emergency streaming has no tolerance for latency or dropped sessions, and the routing has to resolve the correct jurisdiction before the stream is worth anything. The backend also had to serve two native mobile clients without either of them diverging.
Built the streaming layer on Twilio for the real-time video transport, with the Laravel backend handling session lifecycle, jurisdiction routing and authorisation. Designed a single API surface consumed by both the Android and iOS apps, so behaviour stayed identical across platforms.
The platform runs live video sessions between citizens and their nearest city police department, on native apps for both platforms, from one backend.
