Laravel engineer for Finnish teams

I have built for the Finnish market before — including a hosting platform that drives the .fi registry through Traficom's API, and a multi-tenant association system where every tenant runs in its own isolated environment. Not a generic offshore developer discovering Finland for the first time.

Working hours

India is UTC+5:30 with no daylight saving, which puts me 2.5 hours ahead of Finland in summer and 3.5 hours ahead in winter — the closest of the three markets I work in.

Your working day sits comfortably inside mine. A 09:00 EET standup is 11:30 or 12:30 here. There is no overlap window to negotiate.

Most of what gets sold to Finnish companies as offshore engineering starts from zero. The vendor has never handled a .fi domain, never touched Traficom, never had to think about what a Finnish buyer expects around data.

I have. A hosting and domain platform I worked on drives the .fi namespace end to end through the registry API — availability, purchase, renewal, nameservers, transfer keys, registrant and administrative contacts — all from a Laravel admin, so nobody logs into a registrar portal. On another platform, every association tenant runs in its own cPanel account with a separate database and separate file storage, because "can another association see our members' files?" needed an architectural answer rather than a policy one. A third syncs company data continuously from the PRH and YTJ registries, enriching the fields the registries do not carry without overwriting what users add by hand.

That is unusual, and it is unusual in a specific direction: almost nobody outside Finland has built against Finnish infrastructure. It means I am not learning your context on your budget.

Finnish technical buyers are, in my experience, the most engineering-literate of the three markets. They want the reasoning, not the pitch, and they are unimpressed by sales polish. That suits how I work — there is no account manager here to translate what I said into something smoother.

The honest part. I am not in Finland. I am in Ahmedabad, and I would rather you read that here than find out on a call. What that costs you: no on-site presence, and a legal setup for personal data that needs doing properly because India is outside the EEA. What it does not cost you: overlap, context, or someone who has to look up what Traficom is.

Finland is a small market where reputation travels, which cuts both ways and is a reason to be careful rather than a reason to oversell. One good reference goes a long way; one overclaim goes further.

What I get hired for: applications that got slow or expensive as they grew; legacy Laravel that still runs the business; multi-tenant platforms where isolation has become a sales blocker; registry, cPanel and hosting automation, where the seam between your product and a registrar portal should not exist; AI features that need to work on real data rather than in a demo.

Questions
Are you based in Finland?

No. I am based in Ahmedabad, India, and work remotely with a 2.5–3.5 hour offset. I have built for Finnish clients — including .fi registry integration through Traficom and per-tenant isolated hosting — but I am not a local supplier and will not present myself as one.

Have you actually worked with Traficom's API?

Yes. A hosting platform I worked on drives the full .fi lifecycle through it — availability, purchase, renewal, nameserver management, transfer keys, and contact records — from a Laravel admin, with no registrar portal in the loop.

How do you handle GDPR and data residency?

Directly, because Finnish buyers ask early. India is outside the EEA, so processing personal data on your behalf needs a proper legal basis and a data processing agreement. Raise it on the first call and we will get it right before any access is granted.

Can you provide a team rather than one person?

For larger scope I bring in developers from partner firms I have delivered alongside. You interview each one, you are told who employs them, and I stay the technical owner. I do not keep a bench and will not pretend to.

Something holding you back?

New build, rebuild, or adding AI to what you already have — I'll take a look and give you an honest perspective.
