A senior Laravel engineer for Dutch teams whose application has outgrown its architecture — working hours that overlap yours almost entirely, and a straight answer about what is wrong before anyone spends money.
India is UTC+5:30 and does not observe daylight saving, which puts me 3.5 hours ahead of the Netherlands in summer and 4.5 hours ahead in winter.
In practice that means your whole working day sits inside mine. A 09:00 CET standup is 12:30 or 13:30 here; your 17:00 is my early evening. There is no coordination problem to solve and no clever overlap window to negotiate — we simply work at the same time.
This is the least interesting section on the page for Dutch clients, which is exactly the point. For US teams the offset is the first question. Here it is a non-issue.
Dutch engineering culture makes this an unusually good fit, and not for the reason people usually give.
The directness helps, but the real fit is that Dutch technical buyers tend to be technical. They ask what the actual problem is, they want the reasoning rather than the reassurance, and they are comfortable being told an idea is wrong. That is the conversation I am built for. A sales process designed to avoid hard questions is wasted on a room that wants to ask them.
What I get hired for here: applications that grew faster than their architecture and now cost too much to run; legacy Laravel that still carries the business and cannot afford a failed rewrite; multi-tenant platforms where a customer has started asking who can see their data; AI features that have to hold up on real data.
One thing worth naming for the Dutch market specifically: data isolation questions arrive earlier here than in the US. A customer asking "can another tenant see our files?" is a question with an architectural answer or a policy answer, and only one of those survives scrutiny. On one platform that meant giving every tenant a separate database and separate file storage rather than a shared schema with a tenant column. It costs more — migrations fan out, connection handling gets harder — and it means the answer is "no, structurally" rather than "no, we filter carefully".
The honest limits: I am one engineer. That means senior work on scoped problems, not a delivery organisation. If you need several workstreams running in parallel I bring in developers from partner firms and stay accountable for the engineering — but you interview each one and you always know who employs them. If you need a vendor with certifications and headcount on paper, that is not me, and I would rather establish that on the first call.
What you get instead is the engineer, directly, with no account manager in between and nobody to hand you off to. On a rescue engagement that matters more than scale: the person diagnosing the problem is the person who fixes it, and the numbers we agree at the start are the numbers we judge the result by. One legacy rebuild went from 3,982 database queries on a single page to 52. That is checkable, which is the only kind of claim worth making.

How do you handle GDPR and data transfers?
Honestly: I am based in India, which is outside the EEA, so any processing of personal data on your behalf needs a proper legal basis and a data processing agreement. If your project involves personal data, raise it on the first call and we will get the paperwork right before any access is granted — rather than discovering the gap during your next audit.
Do I get you, or someone I have not met?
Me. If scope genuinely needs more hands, I bring in developers from partner firms — you interview each one, you are told who employs them, and I stay the technical owner.
When are you the wrong choice?
When you need a vendor with ISO certification or formal headcount, when you want the cheapest quote rather than the right answer, or when the work is a straightforward site an agency will do better and cheaper. I will say so early.
